Longships Lighthouse

Longships Lighthouse is an active 19th century Lighthouse and a Cornish Icon. It is the second lighthouse to be built on Carn Bras a treacherous reef of jagged rocks off Land’s End which were always a danger to shipping rounding the rocky west coast of Britain It was automated, and the keepers withdrawn. It is now remotely monitored from the Trinity House who are responsible for all the Lighthouses in England and Wales There are over 130 recorded shipwrecks around the Land’s End as well as countless more unrecorded.
